4. What is a cacao ceremony?

A cacao ceremony is a heart-opening ritual that involves drinking pure, raw cacao in a ceremonial setting. Cacao is known for its healing properties and ability to enhance meditation, mindfulness, and spiritual practices. During the ceremony, we will drink a special preparation of cacao while setting intentions, meditating, and connecting with ourselves and others. It's a beautiful way to deepen your inner awareness and foster a sense of community.

5. What are mala beads, and why are we making them?

Mala beads are a traditional tool used in meditation and prayer, typically consisting of 108 beads. They are often used in Japa meditation, where a mantra or prayer is repeated for each bead. During the retreat, you will have the opportunity to create your own mala beads. This process allows for personal reflection and the chance to infuse your mala with your intentions. You are also welcome to create other types of jewelry if you prefer.

6. What is Japa meditation?

Japa meditation is a practice where a mantra (a word or phrase) is repeated silently or aloud while moving each bead of a mala through your fingers. The repetition of the mantra helps to focus the mind, quiet thoughts, and connect deeper with your inner self. It is a powerful and ancient form of meditation that can bring peace, clarity, and spiritual insight.

7. What is Pranayama?

Pranayama is the practice of breath control in yoga. "Prana" means life force or breath, and "yama" means control.
